Hi, Lisa & Thierry-
Interesting to see there's more of us.
I'm in web design and distant learning, 55. My website is
http://www.aretusa.de
For years I've had the fantasy of going to Bali and working there - all I do is electronic stuff, and all I need is a modem and a reliable phone and energy connection - but now I could
really do it. Family reasons.
I've been to Bali and Java several times, and liked both, for different reasons. Java is a little threatening, rather muslim, irrational and unpredictable. After a while you start hanging around with other foreigners to share defense measures. Bali is wide-open arms, tolerance, smile...
Most of the agencies are in Jakarta - which is
very different from Bali, though not at all charmless, once you're embedded in your
kampong. But the atmosphere is totally different from Bali.
On the other hand, Bali is only an hour's flight or some hours in a bus away... and so are Sulawesi, Flores, Lombok.
Did you find any agencies looking for foreign staff?
